The group of draft eligible Tulane Green Wave football players highlighted their skills in front of 25 NFL teams at their Pro Day.

New Orleans, La. – The Tulane Green Wave football team conducted their Pro Day on Tuesday, March 24 at the New Orleans Saints indoor practice facility with 11 players and two former Green Wave players in attendance. The participating 12 players – defensive end Kam Hamilton didn’t undergo testing or position drills – looked to highlight their explosiveness, speed, and agility during the morning’s tests. There were 25 NFL teams in attendance with scouts and coaches in attendance who also conducted the position groups once the players split up.

There aren’t official numbers from their testing, and their numbers are often kept with the scouts when it comes to a pro day versus the more public pre-draft showcases like the NFL Scouting Combine. So for the media in attendance, it was mostly an eye check, and a chance to see how guys responded to poor reps and coaching throughout the three-plus hours.

Here is the full list of Tulane players who donned their Green Wave apparel one last time:

One of the main events of the day was the throwing session that quarterback Jake Retzlaff held with the draft-eligible receivers and some current Tulane wideouts. Retzlaff highlighted his connection with tight end Johnny Pascuzzi and Tre Shackelford. Anthony Brown-Stephens showed off his speed in routes, and it was a good glimpse at newcomers Destyn Hill and running back Jaylin Lucas who showed off impressive route running skills in the session.

Outside of that, it was a bit hard to evaluate without the numbers for bench press, vertical jump, broad jump, 40-yard dash, short shuttle, and L-Cone drills, though multiple players seem to correct and speed up on their second runs and jumps. That same improvement was shown during some drills such as the weaving and backpedaling ones with defensive backs and linebackers where prospects like Bailey Despanie and Sam Howard showed off their takeaway and ball skill abilities.

It was also a good chance to see the players come together and support each other one last time and see how the culture of winning football has really changed the game for NFL draft hopefuls. Multiple players being drafted over the last three NFL drafts, and several remain on rosters and are making an impact in the league, such as Tyjae Spears, Dorian Williams, and the trio of defensive backs last season: Caleb Ransaw, Micah Robinson, and, while undrafted, Johnathan Edwards, who made the Colts’ 53-man roster.

That has given Tulane real credibility to NFL scouts and teams who were considerably in attendance for the 11 draft hopefuls on Tuesday.
