Tulane officially has a two-deep depth chart that has plenty to analyze ahead of their season opener against the Blue Devils.

The Tulane Green Wave officially released their depth chart ahead of the season opener, though the starting quarterback was spoiled early by ESPN’s Pete Thamel, which will be Zeon Chriss-Gremillion for kickoff against the Duke Blue Devils.

Without further ado, let's get to it, and see if there are any hidden surprises that don't line up with the reporting from fall camp.

As a note, the offense has 13 listed positions as they relate to the different personnel packages, with SB standing for Superback.

Analysis: Nothing overtly a surprise here. Chriss-Gremillion gets the nod at quarterback for the Green Wave season opener. The injury to Thompson will put Lovorn in a starting spot. The team appears less confident in Elijah Baker's injury putting Gresham Perry ahead of him on the depth chart, but seem more confident in the injury to John Bock keeping him atop the center depth.

Analysis: The defensive line panned out as anticipated. Really no surprises to the depth chart here. Jah'rie Garner ends up with the starting nod at bandit, though that unit all rotates heavily. TJ Smith and Kajuan Banks will split the starting role at spear as the only real question mark on that side of the ball.

  • Cooper Helmke

Punter

  • William Hudlow
  • Brooks Moore

Kickoff Specialist

  • Cooper Helmke
  • Jackson Courville

Holder

  • William Hudlow
  • Dagan Bruno

OR

  • Brooks Moore

Kickoff Returner

Punt Returner

  • Jaylin Lucas
  • Seth Gale

OR

  • Maurice Turner

Long Snapper

  • Jason Arredondo
  • Graham Coady

Analysis: With no official "starting" kicker given the OR designation, the thought may be to have Jackson Courville as the primary kicker and give Cooper Helmke some longer shots at 50+ yards or so. William Hudlow ultimately gets the nod at punter with his experience. Expect to see a lot of electricity from Jaylin Lucas on both punt and kickoff returns while they return Smith back to a role he had a long return in last season.
