The Tulane Green Wave will release their depth chart on Monday, answering a few questions at some key positions - namely, quarterback.

New Orleans, La. – Barring any surprises, and any “ors” listed on the Tulane Green Wave’s depth chart, a lot of answers should be found on Monday when that is set to be released ahead of the Green Wave’s season opener on the road against the Duke Blue Devils.

With that in mind, it felt a bit pointless to make up another mock depth chart during Saturday’s scrimmage, the second and final one at that.

But that’s also because most of the positions on the field feel pretty finalized with respect to starters and backups across the board.

On defense, a lot of positions feel quite clear.

Josh Lewis is shaping up to be the starting defensive end with Reshad Stirling right behind him, next to Derrick Shepard Jr. at nose tackle backed up by PaLanding Drammeh. Ed Smith has dominated at defensive tackle next to Jah’rie Garner and Warren Roberts at bandit.

Behind them, it’s looking like Chris Rodgers and Dickson Agu will be the starting duo at linebacker backed up by Makai Williams and Dalton Hughes, and we can expect to see a trio of these guys at times when the opposing offense brings out heavy personnel sets.

The only spot on defense where things are the most unsure is at spear. In the secondary, Jack Tchienchou has been holding down free safety. The presumed strong safety should be Kevin Adams, but he didn’t participate in the Saturday scrimmage.

Anthony Rogers has totally taken over boundary corner opposite E’zaiah Shine, who is back at field corner. Macho Stevenson and LJ Green will be the backup defensive backs who can expect to see quite a bit of time with that type of depth.

Then at spear, it really depends on where TJ Smith ends up, as he’s taken quite a bit of snaps at safety as well this season but has also been battling at spear alongside transfer Kajuan Banks.

Then on offense, some injuries on the o-line have muddied things a bit. The injury to center John Bock isn’t expected to be major, but there’s certainly been some moving parts as a result.

At times in the scrimmage on Saturday and back on Friday, Reese Baker moved over to center, Ryan Mickow to right guard, and Darion Reed came in at right tackle.

But barring a major shakeup there, it is probably looking like Gavin Marks will take over at center in the meantime, keeping Baker at guard and Mickow at tackle, then fleshing out the left side with Dominic Steward at left tackle and Gresham Perry at right guard.

At tight end, Vance Bolyard, Dawson Johnson, and Gabe Lovorn should pop up first on the depth chart, though the order isn’t obvious.

Then the presumed starting X receiver will be Destyn Hill, with Zycarl Lewis in the slot, and Anthony Brown-Stephens at Z.

At running back, Maurice Turner will likely get the nod followed by Jaylin Lucas while Jamauri McClure continues rehabbing back.

The main question will be at quarterback. Personally, neither ran away with the job, but it felt like Kadin Semonza ended on a slightly stronger note than Zeon Chriss-Gremillion. But that’s all a gut check without tape to go off of and without an inclination of the system head coach Will Hall best envisions winning with, and how much mobility is required for it.
