Tulane Green Wave track and field notched more personal and program bests ahead of the American Conference Outdoor Championship.

The Tulane Green Wave track and field team were the latest to wrap up their regular season campaign, closing out their outdoor regular season on two fronts on Saturday. At both venues, the Green Wave left with something to build on ahead of the conference tournament. Competing simultaneously at Texas A&M's Alumni Muster and the LSU Invitational, Tulane continued to produce more personal bests, program records and top 10 finishes to cap off the regular season.

For the track highlights at Texas A&M, Samuel Cohen placed sixth in the men’s 800m, leading the way for the men with a time of 1:51:81. Leading the women, Dorcas Naibei placed seventh in women's 1,500m with a season-best time of 4:40.59. Nahema Dumonteil Cabanas finished sixth in the women’s 400m hurdles with a personal best mark of 59.83, good for the fifth-best time in program history. Zaria Parker led the contingent for the women in the women’s 100m, placing 15th with a time of 11.75. In the 200m, multiple personal bests were set: Bella Carroll, Bryanna Fears, Sofie Groeninger, Andrew Bamberg and Jay Bowles.

For the field events at Texas A&M, Cara Salsberry continued a stellar season campaign with a fifth-place finish in the women’s discus at 50.54m, good for a personal best and the second-best mark in program history. Presley Wolfe had a season-best 3.79m in the women’s pole fault, tying for eighth place. Groeninger finished 12th in the women’s long jump, while Brianna Brand followed in 16th place with a season-best mark of 5.61m. Dumonteil Cabanas finished 12th in the women’s high jump to tie her personal best of 1.62m. For the men, Aiden Yang was fifth in men’s javelin with a 53.24m toss.

Then there was the one-day LSU Invitational in Baton Rouge featuring a smaller group of athletes, particularly some distance standouts. Alex Sharp came in third in the women’s 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 10:26.07, which is the second-best time in program history and good for 94th nationally in all of NCAA Division I Track and field. Allison Hall finished two spots back in fifth with a sixth-best program mark of 10:40.33. In the women’s 800m, Maria Alduan placed eighth, followed by Eliza Brand right behind her in ninth. To round out the women’s slate at LSU, Jasper Newton came in seventh in the women’s 1,500m at 4:29.59, and Dana Rojas Vazquez came in 12th with a time of 4:33.95.

And that caps off an electric outdoor regular season for the Wave as they now set their sights on the American Conference Outdoor Championships. They’ll be treated to an off week before that action will kick off from May 15-17 in Denton, Tex. Tulane will arrive to the postseason with a week of rest, a slate of personal bests, and program-record performances from their athletes who are hitting their stride at the perfect time.
