The Tulane Green Wave women's basketball team will host South Florida in their regular season finale ahead of tournament play.

The Tulane Green Wave women’s basketball team is set for their regular season finale on Saturday afternoon at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse where they’ll host the South Florida Bulls at 2 p.m., streaming on ESPN+ on the radio on WRBH 88.3 FM and through the Varsity Network App. The Green Wave will hope to end the regular season on a high note after dropping Tuesday’s contest against the Florida Atlantic Owls 61-57 as they enter Saturday 11-18 and 6-11 in American play.

It’ll mark the 55th time that Tulane and South Florida will meet, and the Bulls lead the series 34-20, have won 25 of the last 26 – and the last six straight, making this somewhat of a revenge game to close out the season for the Wave. The last time Tulane beat USF was in 2022. They lost to South Florida 85-53 earlier on the road in Tampa exactly one month prior to Saturday’s contest on Feb. 7. Unfortunately for the Green Wave, they tend to match up better on the road with the Bulls, at least series history-wise. Tulane has lost the last 13 games at home to the Bulls, with their last win over USF at home coming on Jan. 12, 2001.

While the Green Wave are looking to bounce back, the Bulls are riding a three-game winning streak and enter Saturday’s contest 19-11 with a considerable 12-5 record in American play. If Tulane wants to best USF, they need to show the same fight they displayed in Tuesday’s loss but come out with a win this time. The Wave’s scoring offense is shooting 65.1 with a 39.9 field goal percentage. They are sixth in the American with a 38.9 percentage on rebounds and are fifth in assists at 14.2. They are fourth in the conference as one of the better shot-blocking squads with an average 3.8.

There are several standouts on the roster, both offensively and defensively. Kanija Daniel leads the team scoring 11.8 points per game. Dyllan Hanna is tenth in the conference with a team-leading 7.1 rebounds per game. Kendall Sneed has 4.0 assists per game, leading the team and good for sixth in the conference. Tulane also boasts the only lineup with two players in the top five for blocking in the American, with the formidable blocking duo of Hannah and Daniel ranking third (1.4) and fifth (1.0) in the league.

Another player continuing to climb up the history books in Tulane all-time scoring is Amira Mabry, who enters Saturday as No. 24 with 1,065 career points and 11 shy of No. 23. CC Mays is also nearing the 1,000-point mark with 994 points ahead of Saturday’s contest. After the season wraps up, Tulane will head on to the American Conference Championship tournament in Birmingham.
