Tulane leads the American with 20 commits in 2026 and sits second in the 2027 class, signaling sustained momentum under Will Hall.
The Tulane Green Wave have continued adding to a strong future for the football program with their recruiting classes, something that has seemed to fall by the wayside in a lot of college sports.
They have 20 commits for the 2026 season with one four-star recruit and19 three-star recruits, touting the top recruiting class in the American per 247 recruiting rankings. The UTSA Roadrunners are the only other team in the conference to have a four-star commit heading into this upcoming football season.
Last season, in head coach Jon Sumrall’s final year, they were ranked No. 3 in the conference with 20 commits and 17 three-stars. A lot of the commits for the 2026 class are Sumrall recruits, but importantly, they chose to stay under new head coach Will Hall.
And even though it’s the dead period of college football outside of summer workout programs, it’s one of the busiest times of the year for the recruiting staff, which has continued on like a well-oiled machine under coach Hall.
As of Thursday, the program is up to 20 commits with five three-stars for their 2027 class and rank second in the conference behind the South Florida Bulls (15 total, six three-stars).
Recruiting rankings are a bit of a wash sometimes, and they can drastically change when guys transfer programs later on in ways that don’t make sense. Some of these guys have higher star rankings elsewhere. They can go down once they decide to commit to a Group of Five program over several Power Four offers.
But there’s something to be said about quantity just as much when it comes to recruiting guys who are still in high school, who haven’t seen a collegiate weight room or nutrition program, and who haven’t been tested by college level concepts.
Some may stick, while others can’t. Some might be quick learners while others take some time to get assimilated. Having a larger group of guys to work with allows for real depth to be built while immediate impact stars can be cultivated.
The five three-star commits are wide receiver Ray’Quan Williams, defensive lineman Demetrius Terrell, defense end Hans Emery Julien, wide receiver Dallas Crescenzo, and quarterback Kingston Johnson.
Williams turned down offers from 29 total programs. The St. Augustine product and local New Orleans native had offers from the LSU Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes.
Terrell had 17 offers with multiple Power Fours on the table. Crescenzo, a recent commit, took visits to Florida State, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Eastern Michigan, FIU, and Arizona State.
But ultimately, they ended up choosing the Green Wave, showing a continued track for sustained success that starts from the foundation up.
