The Green Wave now has a total of seven players set to join the program this coming season.

The Tulane Green Wave has seen its basketball program fill out a bit over the past few days.

The Green Wave has added four new players out of the transfer portal after initially bringing in TJ Nadeau, Ryan Blount and Krystian Lewis. The team will look to build off of a disappointing 2025-2026 season that ended with a loss in the American Conference Tournament and the transfer of standout player Rowan Brumbaugh, among a handful of other starters.

The most notable of these transfers is Indiana Wesleyan Wildcats standout Caedmon Bontrager. The All-Crossroads League Player of the Year had an incredible 2025-2026 season in the NAIA, averaging 20.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. He's a big get for Tulane, as the program has been in desperate need of a consistent threat on the boards. Only time will tell how well his skills translate to the Division I level, but so far, there's plenty to be excited about.

Georgia State Panthers forward Joah Chappelle is also set to bring his talents to Uptown. The rising junior appeared in 28 games last season and averaged 7.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest. He showed promise and growth throughout the year and should improve more as his career progresses.

Another sophomore, Queens University Royals standout Carson Schwieger, is the sixth overall commitment for the Green Wave. The forward made a big jump between his freshman and sophomore seasons, ending his second year with an average of 10.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. He helped lead his team to an NCAA Tournament appearance, which ended with a first-round loss to the Purdue Boilermakers.

Lastly, VCU Rams sophomore reserve Jordann Dumont has committed to the Olive Green and Sky Blue. Dumont received very limited action with the Rams -- making nine appearances for an average of 2.3 minutes per contest -- and this will be his third transfer in as many years. Perhaps Uptown could be a much better fit, and the team could certainly use some depth.

While this is a near-complete overhaul of last season's Green Wave team, it might be for the best. Tulane struggled greatly with consistency, even though there was plenty of potential all across the lineup. As a whole, head coach Ron Hunter has pulled some solid prospects out of the portal -- it's only a matter of time before we see just how well these student-athletes can work together.
