Both student-athletes played a crucial role in the Tulane Green Wave's big series victory against East Carolina.

After an impressive weekend on the diamond, the Tulane Green Wave has seen a pair of players take home weekly honors in the American Conference.

Outfielder Jason Wachs and pitcher Trey Cehajic were named to the American Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. Both played an instrumental role in helping the Green Wave to a series victory over the East Carolina Pirates, with a Friday night victory to open up the weekend of action and a Sunday rubber match win.

This is now the second-consecutive conference series victory for the Sluggerbirds, and both have come against opponents with winning records in the league. Tulane previously took down the Wichita State Shockers to gain some major momentum.

Cehajic was previously named the American Conference Pitcher of the Week on March 2nd following a career outing against the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, but this is his first time being named to the league's honor roll. The graduate student bounced back after a tough few weeks on the mound, giving up just one run on four hits with two strikeouts across 5.1 innings pitched.

The Shreveport native hadn't picked up a win on the mound since late February, but a dominant outing against a talented offense like East Carolina's could be exactly what he needs to keep rolling through the rest of the season.

Wachs has now been named to the Weekly Honor Roll twice this year, with the first accolade coming on March 23rd. Additionally, the sophomore received the honor once during his 2025 freshman campaign. Wachs continued to prove his power on offense throughout the three-game stretch against the Pirates, batting .545 on the weekend with six hits -- three of which were doubles -- four RBI and four runs scored. Additionally, he walked three times.

Wachs leads the program with a batting average of .349, and his 15 doubles puts him at the top of the entire league. He's routinely shown just how much of a clutch player he can be at the plate, and he's still got more to prove as his collegiate career continues.

Cehajic and Wachs mark the seventh and eighth time the conference has honored Green Wave players this season. Aside from the duo's previous accolades, Tanner Chun and Jack Frankel were named to the Honor Roll on February 23rd, while Jude Abbadessa picked up the accolade on March 23rd. Jake Toporek was the most recent recipient, with the American Conference recognizing him on April 6th.

Tulane will look to keep the momentum it has built going as it takes on the Southeastern Louisiana Lions on Tuesday in midweek action. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. CT at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium.
