RJ Harvey powered through the goal line to ignite Denver's offense, solidifying his role as a dual-threat weapon while eclipsing franchise receiving records once held by legends.

After a stellar four-year career at UCF, star running back RJ Harvey was an instant difference-maker at the next level with the Denver Broncos.

After scoring 12 touchdowns as a rookie, Harvey found paydirt for the first time this season on Thursday night, powering in a goalline score.

As he did multiple times last season, Harvey lined up in the wildcat on the one-yard line, taking the direct snap and giving the Broncos a 14-3 lead.

Overall, it was a quiet day for Denver's offense as a whole, with Harvey recording 25 yards on six carries and once again serving as his team's leading receiver (3 catches for 31 yards).

While some of Harvey's production in the receiving game is due to the inability for the Broncos to push the ball downfield at the moment, he remains the team's second-leading receiver, trailing former Miami Dolphins wideout Jaylen Waddle by a slim margin.

Harvey's 23 receptions, however, still lead the team, as he has been a reliable option for quarterback Bo Nix to find out of the backfield.

In Week 3, against the San Francisco 49ers, Harvey was a perfect 10-of-10 on his targets, accumulating 68 receiving yards and giving Denver significant yards after the catch.

This was the third-most receptions by a Denver running back in single-game franchise history.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Harvey slipped out to the left flat and caught a pass for a five-yard gain.

Four 49ers defenders descended on Harvey, but he was able to break a tackle and evade all four, breaking free and turning a check down into an 18-yard gain.

Overall, it has been a quiet start to the season for Harvey in the rushing department, but his added value as a pass-catcher gives Broncos head coach Sean Payton a dangerous option out of the backfield.

With Harvey's 67 catches through his first 20 NFL games, Harvey now sits alone atop the Broncos' franchise rankings, beating out Hall-of-Fame tailback Terrell Davis.

Although the Broncos' offense has been a struggle, the team is still 4-2 and positioned to compete with the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC West crown.

Entering a Week 6 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, Harvey could be in line for his best game this season as a runner.

The Cardinals are towards the bottom of the league in run defense metrics, surrendering 126.6 yards on the ground per game to their opponents.
