Facing No. 18 Oklahoma State, the Knights must overcome a depleted roster as quarterback Keyone Jenkins seeks to lead an offense missing critical starters in the trenches.
UCF's injury report remains a laundry list of players ahead of the Knights' ranked showdown with No. 18 Oklahoma State.
Starting quarterback Alonza Barnett III remains sidelined, with wide receiver Caleb Rollerson and linebacker Lewis Carter also injured.
Carter continues to miss time after having a very strong start to the season, but the addition of Cole Kozlowski should supplement Alex Grinch's linebacking core.
It is still unknown when Kozlowksi will make his season debut, but he and Tackett Curtis project as a strong duo in the front seven.
Backup quarterback Keyone Jenkins was listed as probable on the report, which is a good sign for UCF's offense.
Jenkins has played well over the past two weeks, with the Knights' offense stalling after his brief injury against Houston.
Heading into a matchup against Oklahoma State's prolific passing attack, Jenkins will need to keep the ball out of harm's way and move the chains to keep the Knights' offense on the field.
Another promising sign for UCF's offense is the potential return of Duane "Speedy" Thomas Jr., who is yet to see action after leading the Knights in receiving last season.
Thomas was upgraded to questionable on Thursday, and would bolster a wide-receiving corps that needs to produce at a higher rate.
UCF's quarterbacks have spread the wealth around to various pass catchers, but the Knights are towards the bottom of the Power 4 rankings in receiving.
Getting senior tight end Dylan Wade more involved should also be a priority, as he has recorded only eight catches for 53 yards after last year's historic campaign.
Wade is listed as probable on the report, but should be good to go alongside redshirt freshman tight end Caden Piening.
On the offensive line, one big addition to the injury report was center Jacob Maiava, who has burst onto the scene in his freshman season, and was anchoring UCF's run game.
Maiava suffered a soft tissue injury in his groin against Houston, thrusting offensive guard Connor Meadows back into the center role.
This is a big loss for UCF's offensive attack, as Maiava had just begun to catch his stride and the offensive line as a whole was looking improved.
Oklahoma State is also very susceptible to the run, ranking towards the bottom of the Big 12 Conference in opponent rushing yards per game (158.8 yards)
Expect UCF to lean on the run game early and often to allow Jenkins to get in the flow of the game and keep him protected.
