UConn Huskies basketball coaches have started preparing their teams for the upcoming season, but their minds also are on what happens when the season ends.
Dan Hurley and his staff are in the midst of hosting some of the most elite prospects in the nation for their official visits as they seek to build a strong Class of 2027 roster. And Geno Auriemma has been on the road, making in-home stops with four of the top five women’s basketball prospects.
UConn men’s recruiting update: Jordan Page
Jordan Page, a five-star recruit, from Raleigh, N.C., will make an official visit to UConn beginning Friday, according to 247Sports.
Page is listed by the 247Sports composite as the No. 4 small forward in the 2027 class and the No. 12 overall player in the nation. He likely projects as a guard in college.
The 6-foot-5 Page plays at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. According to ESPN reporting, he is interested in UConn along with Baylor, Houston, Kansas, North Carolina, NC State and Texas Tech.
He already has made an official visit to North Carolina. Being from Raleigh, it will be interesting to see whether that gives an edge to either home-city school NC State or to UNC, located about a half-hour away in Chapel Hill.
Asa Montgomery update
Another small forward, 6-7 Asa Montgomery made his official visit to UConn last week. He is ranked No. 3 in the nation at his position, and No. 8 overall in the nation, per the 247Sports composite.
He was scheduled to visit Providence on Friday, but Dushawn London of 247Sports reported late Wednesday that the weekend visit with the Friars is off. He already has visited LSU, Georgia Tech and Florida, in addition to UConn.
Scheduled visits are still to come with North Carolina (Sept. 25), Duke (Oct. 2), Arizona (Oct. 16) and Louisville (Oct. 30).
Montgomery plays at Hillgrove High School in Powder Springs, Ga.
NaVorro Bowman Jr. update
UConn has one commitment in the 2027 class thus far: NaVorro Bowman Jr. Bowman made his official visit on Sept. 4 and gave head coach Dan Hurley a verbal commitment last week.
A 6-foot-3 guard from Sherman Oaks, Calif., he's ranked as the No. 11 prospect in the 2027 class and No. 2 at the combo guard position.
He is the son of former San Francisco 49ers standout linebacker NaVorro Bowman Sr.
The younger Bowman won a gold medal with the 2026 FIBA U17 team at the World Cup. In seven games, he averaged 11.9 points, 3.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.
