“The Dynasty: UConn Huskies" will be released Aug. 21 via Apple TV.
The highly anticipated three-part docuseries about the UConn women’s basketball program finally has a release date, Apple TV announced Thursday.
“The Dynasty: UConn Huskies” takes a look at 40 years of head coach Geno Auriemma’s iconic team, culminating with the 2025 NCAA Championship won by the Huskies. It will premiere Aug. 21 via the streaming service.
The story starts with the 1985 season, when a floundering UConn program takes the court with a first year, 31-year-old coach, and walks the viewers through the journey of three dozen appearances in the Women’s NCAA Tournament and a record dozen national championships. Archival footage will give fans who are not old enough to remember the early days of the program a good look.
Who and what you will see
Along the way, viewers will get reacquainted with some of the greats of program history – Rebecca Lobo, Swin Cash, Sue Bird and Maya Moore among them – and hear extensively from the players on the 2025 team. The docuseries includes interviews with Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, the past two WNBA No. 1 draft picks who now are Dallas Wings teammates; Sarah Strong, who as a sophomore in the 2025-26 season was the National Player of the Year; and KK Arnold and Jana El Alfy.
A news release from Apple TV promises “a rare, inside look at the players carrying the program forward while reflecting on the legacy that built it.”
“The Dynasty: UConn Huskies” traces that journey in full – blending never-before-seen archival footage, incisive interviews and intimate access to players, coaches, alumni and more – revealing how a program built over decades continues to define the standard today,” per the news release.

What other sports programming has Apple TV offered?
“The Dynasty: UConn Huskies” is just the latest in Apple’s sports-focused offerings.
