A second five-star prospect has given his pledge to the Huskies.

With just one sentence spoken on Sunday, Jordan Page gave the UConn Huskies a perfect 10.

“I’ll be going to UConn with Dan Hurley,” Page announced live on NBA TV.

Page, a wing from Raleigh, N.C., is the second five-star prospect to commit to the UConn Class of 2027. The other is NaVorro Bowman Jr., a combo guard from Southern California.

Two five-stars? That’s a 10.

ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported this is the first time in at least 20 years that UConn has two five-star prospects in its class.

Page and Bowman also are the first five-star prospects in the 2027 class to commit.

Why UConn for Page?

Page took his official visit to UConn on the weekend of Sept. 18, a week after he visited head coach Michael Malone at North Carolina. While Page is playing this upcoming season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., his Raleigh roots could have led him to favor the Tar Heels, with that campus located 45 minutes or so away in Chapel Hill.

But they did not. On NBA TV, Page said UConn got the nod because of the championship pedigree and the culture Hurley has built in Storrs, Conn.

“What (Hurley) said to me was, ‘hats and rings.’ You got lottery picks and the rings; they win championships. So I would love to be in a winning culture for sure. … It means the world to me. This is a dream.”

Page, at 6-foot-5 and 210 pounds, is a left-hander who is listed on the composite as the No. 4 small forward in the class and No. 12 overall in the nation.

Bowman, from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif., committed in September, days after his official visit to Storrs. At 6-3 and 185 pounds, the composite shows him as the No. 11 overall player in the nation and the No. 2 combo guard.

Page and Bowman have experience playing together. They were teammates over the summer on the United States’ gold medal-winning team in the FIBA U17 World Cup.

More on UConn’s 2027 class

The 247Sports composite lists UConn’s class as the No. 2 in the nation to date, narrowly trailing Houston. But make no mistake – UConn’s class seems to be tops in the nation, at least for now with time still to go in this recruiting cycle.

Class rankings are calculated based on both the quality and quantity of players. Houston stands on top due to its quartet of four-star recruits.

Every prospect earns a numerical score from the analysts, with 247Sports’ scores going up to 1.000. Bowman (0.9962) and Page (0.9960) are in very elite company in UConn history, landing in the top five of UConn commits since 2001.

Fans certainly will know the other names. Rudy Gay (2004 class, 0.9977) is tops, followed by Stephon Castle (2023, 0.9966), Bowman, Charlie Villanueva (2003, 0.9962) and Page to make up the five highest-ranked players to commit to the Huskies.

UConn set up official visits with a number of guards – and trips with at least three blue-chip recruits were canceled after Bowman committed.

Along the same lines, Page’s commitment brings an end to UConn’s pursuit of DeMarcus Henry, according to basketball reporter Adam Zagoria. The top-rated small forward and No. 3 overall player, Henry is believed to be leaning toward Arkansas.

Will there be more commitments?

Maybe, Or maybe not.

UConn’s 2026 class has just two members: five-star small forward Colben Landrew and four-star shooting guard Junior County. Hurley and his staff filled vacancies on the roster with transfers targeted by positions of greatest need.

The Huskies’ 2026-27 team consists of the two freshmen; returnees Solo Ball (injured), Silas Demary Jr., Jacob Ross, Jayden Ross and Braylon Mullins; and transfers Nik Khamenia, Jaye Nash, Na’jai Hines, Egor Amosov, Oskar Giltay, Nils Machowski, Elmir Dzafic and Isaiah Shaw.
