University of Connecticut football standout Skyler Bell earned a fascinating distinction in an incredible 2025 season.
He was the only wide receiver in the nation to finish in the top two of catches, yards and touchdowns, posting better across-the-board numbers than fellow superstars Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) and Makai Lemon (Southern California).
That was noted on social media by Chase Coburn.
Bell, who spent two years in Storrs after three years at Wisconsin, will go down as one of the most productive players in Huskies football history. He's also certain to be an NFL Draft pick and will have an opportunity to represent the Huskies on the biggest stage.
Bell was a major reason why the Huskies finished the regular season at 9-3, amassing 101 catches for 1,278 yards.
He was one of only two players in the country to have 100 catches or more and was one of only three players to have 1,200 yards or more. His 13 touchdowns were second nationally.
Unfortunately, UConn fans have seen him for the last time, as reports indicate he's going to sit out the upcoming Fenway Bowl (Dec. 27 against Army). Quarterback Joe Fagnano is expected to do the same.
The Huskies will look to win the Fenway Bowl for the second straight year. They beat North Carolina in 2024.

Bell was named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the best receiver in the country, and he was just named a first-team AP All-American. He's the first UConn player to ever receive that honor.
