Nine former Huskies are on the rosters of the league's postseason teams.
When the WNBA playoffs begin Sunday, the UConn Huskies will be well represented.
Four of the eight teams in the postseason field have former Huskies on their rosters, eight of them active. And San Francisco might as well be called Storrs West, where the home Golden State Valkyries have four Huskies on the roster.
For UConn grad Paige Bueckers, it’s her first WNBA postseason. For others, the playoffs have become routine. Just look at Breanna Stewart’s career game log. In her 10th WNBA season, Stewart has started all 333 of her playoff games with averages of 20.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists.
The WNBA is finishing its final week of the 44-game regular season, with the playoffs set to begin Sunday. The eight teams have been decided. Only seeding remains.
