

After going a perfect 31-0 in the regular season, the University of Connecticut women's basketball team earned another Big East regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the Big East Tournament, where they will open play on Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. ET.
The favorite to win the national championship for the second consecutive year, the Huskeis will assuredly receive the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Furthermore, the group cleaned up in the Big East Conference awards, which were announced on Thursday morning.
Let's dive in.
Essentially a foregone conclusion, Auriemma had his team at a perfect 20-0 in league play. It's the 20th time that Auriemma has won Coach of the Year, including the 14th time in the Big East Conference. This was the 20th perfect conference season in program history under his guidance.
You name it, Strong won it. She was named the league's Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. She also earned a spot on the first-team All-Big East squad and the All-Defensive team. She's averaging 18.6 ppg and is second in the conference in blocks.
As noted by UConn Athletics, this is the 21st time that a UConn player has won Big East Player of the Year.
She's also a very strong contender for National Player of the Year.

She is second in the nation in three-pointers made at 96.
She's continued to elevate her game and was also named the league's Scholar Athlete of the Year on Wednesday.
Quinonez was named the league's Rookie of the Year and Sixth Woman of the Year while also earning a spot on the Second-Team all-conference roster and the First-Team All-Freshman roster. She's averaging 10 ppg and shooting better than 50 percent from the floor.

She's second nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio.
She was also named a member of the All-Defensive team.
Named Big East Honorable Mention, she's averaging 8.2 ppg and 3.5 rebounds.
