After dominating No. 9 Syracuse on Monday night, the Huskies will take on No. 4 North Carolina on Friday afternoon.

After rolling over No. 9 Syracuse on Monday night in the Round of 32, the University of Connecticut women's basketball team is headed to the Sweet 16, where they will meet No. 4 North Carolina.

The game will be played in Fort Worth, Texas, and will take on place on Friday night at 5 p.m. ET. The game time was previously unknown. It will air nationally on ESPN.

Connecticut is a perfect 36-0 and seeking its second consecutive national championship. The heavy favorite to win the title, it would be the 13th overall in program history. It's the 32nd straight appearance in the Sweet 16 for Connecticut.

North Carolina is 28-7, having beaten Western Illinois and Maryland in the first two rounds of the tournament.

What they're saying after the win vs. Syracuse

Azzi Fudd, on her final game at Gampel Pavilion:

Yeah, Gampel has been home for the last five years, and when people say like no place compares, it really doesn't. No environment, the crowd, the fans, the students, everything about this place is amazing. So to be able to play here one last time, have a great team win like we did tonight, couldn't have asked for anything better.

Fudd, on the team's defense in a 31-0 run in the first half

Yeah. And I think our defense really started with Serah Williams tonight. She really took pride in her matchup. And, I mean, I think she held their best scorer to 4 or 6 when she was in the game.

So for her to start the game out like that, really taking pride in that, and all of us helped out, trying to have her back whenever we could. But I think tonight it started with Serah Williams' intensity, and we just fed off her.

Geno Auriemma, on the support of the crowd

And I can't say enough about our student section. Today was the first day of school for second semester, and I don't know, looked like there was like 3,000 people up there or something like that, I don't know. But they had incredible energy, and they were like that all year, and it just adds, you know, when you're watching kids that you go to class with and you're having a blast, then you're watching us play the way we played, it really -- it made it a real meaningful, special night for these guys.
