UConn Women's Hooper Out For Rest of Season After Undergoing Surgery cover image

Ice Brady has been sidelined most of the campaign with a knee injury.

The University of Connecticut women's basketball team will be without junior Ice Brady for the rest of the season because of a knee surgery she underwent on Monday.

Per Maggie Vanoni on social media:

NEWS: UConn women’s basketball announces that redshirt junior Ice Brady underwent successful surgery at UConn Health on Monday to repair a knee injury that has sidelined her for the majority of this season

She will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

The Huskies are 27-0 and 16-0 in Big East play. They are attempting to win their second consecutive national championship and look well-positioned to achieve it.

About Brady

A redshirt junior from San Diego, Calif., Brady started 12 games a season ago, averaging 3.6 ppg and 2.8 rebounds. She only played in two games this season, scoring 2.5 ppg. Because she only played two games, she will (we assume) try to get another medical redshirt. No matter what, she will have at least one year left in Storrs.

In addition to her 12 starts as a sophomore, she played in 39 games as a freshman, averaging 4.5 ppg. She was named to the All-Big East Tournament team in 2024.

Up next for Connecticut

The Huskies will play a very talented Villanova team on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET. Villanova is 21-5 and 14-3 in league play. The Wildcats have won six straight and are 11-2 at home.

UConn is coming off a 71-56 win against Marquette. It was the closest margin of victory for Geno Auriemma's team in months.
