Bell will have a chance to show what he can do against some of the top seniors in the nation ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

UConn wide receiver Skyler Bell has been invited to take part in the Senior Bowl.

The college football all-star game will be played in Mobile, Ala., on Jan. 31.

The event gives NFL coaches, general managers and other team executives a chance to meet one another in advance of the pre-draft NFL Scouting Combine.

In the 2025 NFL Draft, 106 people Senior Bowl players were selected. Fifty of them were chosen in the first three rounds, according to a UConn news release.

It’s a golden opportunity for Bell, whose draft stock certainly rose throughout UConn’s 9-3 season. He is one of three finalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given annually to the wide receiver voted to be the nation’s best.

A fifth-year senior, Bell played his first three seasons at Wisconsin and his final two in Storrs. He finished second in the nation in receptions (101), yards (1,278) and receiving touchdowns 13 in 2025.

He wasn’t far off from winning the nation’s triple crown of receiving. Just ahead of him in each category were Easton Messer of Florida Atlantic (104 receptions), Danny Scuderi of San Jose State (1,291 yards) and Camden Brown of Georgia Southern (14).

For his career, he has 220 catches and 2,893 yards. He's caught 24 touchdowns, including 18 with the Huskies.

He had at least eight catches in each of the final six games of the 2025 season and set school records for receptions and TDs. After their 38-19 win against UAB, in which he made eight catches for 149 yards and three touchdowns, he won the Senior Bowl offensive player of the week.

    Recognition comes Bell's way

The week prior to that UAB game, he caught eight passes for 158 yards and a touchdown in an overtime loss on Oct. 25 and drew the attention of an ESPN panel that gave its day-after thoughts each Sunday about draft prospects.

In the group’s Oct. 26 analysis, ESPN’s Jordan Reid had this to say:

“UConn receiver Skyler Bell needs more love in this class. The Wisconsin transfer has been the focal point of the Huskies' offense, and he just had his fifth game of 100-plus receiving yards this season with his 158-yard performance against Rice,” Reid said.

“At 6-foot and 185 pounds, Bell is an electric target who can win with any branch of the route tree. He was on scouts' radar entering the season, and now he's a serious contender to go on Day 2, though many still want to see him in an all-star game setting. Scouts will ask how prospects outside of the Power 4 perform when matched up against upper-level opponents. And for what it's worth, Bell had 21 catches for 230 yards and a touchdown against Boston College and Syracuse this season.”

Bell is the 19th player in UConn history to receive an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
