Despite having a better record (5-1), the University of Washington football team enters Saturday's contest at Michigan (4-2) as a 6.5-point underdog, according to the line set by Fanduel Sports.
Considering Michigan is at home, it makes sense that they would be favored, but it does seem like a bit of a high line considering Washington just won two Big 10 games in a row (Maryland, Rutgers) and Michigan is coming off a 31-13 defeat at the hands of USC.
The two teams met last season in Seattle, their first official meeting as conference rivals, with Washington winning. Quarterback Will Rogers threw for 271 yards in that meeting.
But Michigan won the last contest that truly mattered, taking home the 2023 College Football Playoff title game. That was the final game in a Huskies uniform for quarterback Michael Penix Jr., who was a first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 2024. It was also the final game for receivers Rome Odunze and Ja'lynn Polk, who were drafted that same year.
As for this Washington team, they feature a balanced offensive attack that they'll need to be in full effect on Saturday. Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. was the Big 10 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time based on his record-setting performance against Rutgers, and Jonah Coleman is a dynamic running back with 12 total touchdowns.
As for Michigan, they feature a dynamic playmaker of their own in quarterback Bryce Underwood. He has thrown for 1,210 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while also rushing for 177 and three scores.
Kickoff is set for 9 a.m. PT and the game will air nationally on FOX.
