The Huskies are reportedly interested in Slovenian guard Urban Kroflic and Weber State guard and Weber State transfer Tijan Saine Jr.
The Washington Huskies men's basketball team have already taken care of the majority of the open starting positions that were able on the team with several portal acquisitions this offseason.
The Huskies have brought in four players via the portal this offseason: Senior guards Ryan Beasley, Parker Friedrichsen and senior forwards LeJuan Watts and Steele Venters.
UW also earned a commitment from Class of 2026 small forward Lattimore Ford.
Washington entered the transfer portal with seven players on the roster following players running out of eligibility or entering the portal. That number went down to six when graduate center Franck Kepnang entered the portal.
With the additions to the roster, the Huskies should have 11 players signed and/or committed for the 2026-27 season.
NCAA rosters can have a max of 15 players and UW, which found itself down to seven-to-eight scholarship players at various points last year due to injury, is still looking to fill the final spots on the roster.
According to recent reports, Washington is interested in two different players of varying backgrounds.
Here's an overview of those two players:
Urban Kroflic, G, Slovenia
The Huskies have found success in recruiting internationally, specifically in the past year.
Washington was able to land 2025-26 leading scorer and potential 2026 NBA Draft lottery pick Hannes Steinbach from Wurzburg, Germany. One of the team's expected returners, forward/center Nikola Dzepina, was recruited out of Serbia and played in 14 games after joining the team in the winter.
The Huskies could dip back into the European recruiting pool according to a recent post on "X" from Husky Hoops.
According to the post, the Washington coaching staff is interested in 6-foot-7, Slovenian guard Urban Kroflic, who's reportedly interested in transitioning to NCAA basketball.
Kroflic has been a common participant for his native country in the FIBA World Cup. In the U19 World Cup last summer, he averaged 12.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists across seven games.
Across three FIBA World Cup qualifying games in early March, Kroflic averaged 10.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Tijan Saine Jr., G, Weber State
One of the "local" players who have been on the Huskies' radar this offseason has been Everett, Wash., native and Weber State transfer TIjan Saine Jr.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound guard was one of the most prolific scorers in the Big Sky last season with the Wildcats. He averaged 17.5 points on 45.4% shooting across 32 games (all starts). He also averaged 4.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
According to a post on "X" from ESPN college basketball insider Jeff Borzello, Saine has heard from UW, Missouri, North Carolina State, Mississippi State, San Jose State, LSU and Texas State.
