The Washington Huskies football team is still reeling from a monumental move.
On Tuesday (Jan. 6), sophomore quarterback Demond Williams Jr. announced he would be entering the transfer portal.
The report was followed with the news that Washington planned to challenge the move and enforce the contract Williams signed with the university days prior.
There's no precedent currently in place for a university successfully challenging a portal transfer or break in contract but the Huskies could be the first university to do so.
Regardless of how the Williams transfer progresses, Washington seems to be moving forward in attempts to find a new signal-caller for 2026.
According to a report on "X" from Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, senior Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula is currently on the Huskies campus in Seattle.
MORE HUSKIES STORIES:
Pribula was the Tigers' starting quarterback this past season after transferring from the Huskies' Big Ten rivals, the Penn State Nittany Lions.
In his first year as a starting quarterback, Pribula completed 67.4% of his passes for 1,974 yards, 19 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He ran 95 times for 297 yards and six touchdowns.
Pribula started just nine of Missouri's 13 games this season due to a dislocated ankle he suffered in the team's 17-10 loss against Vanderbilt on Oct. 25. He returned in a 17-6 loss against Oklahoma on Nov. 22.
Pribula opted to not play in the Tigers' Gator Bowl showdown against Virginia on Dec. 27, which they lost 13-7.
If Pribula were to commit, he would be the presumptive favorite in an experienced and thin Washington quarterback room.
Aside from Williams, the Huskies only have two quarterbacks on the roster from this past season: redshirt freshmen Dash Beierly and Treston "Kini" McMillan.
Washington also recruited three-star signal caller Derek Zammit in the 2026 recruiting class.
In addition to replacing Williams, the Huskies will also have to find answers at running back and wide receiver.
Washington's leading rusher, senior running back Jonah Coleman, will enter the 2026 NFL draft alongside the program's leading pass-catcher from this past season, junior Denzel Boston.
The Huskies will have a hard time replacing all the offensive talent they lost via the portal or the draft, but will be bolstered by a 2026 recruiting class that ranks 12th nationally and has several potential true freshman contributors including five-star offensive lineman Kodi Greene and four-star wide receiver Jordan Clay.
