How the bracket works

The top 15 teams make the tournament, so Rutgers, Northwestern and Penn State did not qualify.

Seeds 10-15 will open up play on March 4 while seeds 5-9 begin play on March 5, playing the winners of the March 4 matchups. The top four seeds play on March 6 against the winners from the day before. The championship is Sunday, March 8.

The winner represents the Big Ten in the NCAA Tournament.
