    The Huskies toppled NC State in overtime.

    The University of Washington men's soccer team captured its first-ever national championship on Monday night, defeating No. 15 North Carolina State 3-2 in overtime at the College Cup Finals in Cary, N.C.

    The Huskies led 2-0 before surrendering two second-half goals, but Harrison Bertos scored the game-winner less than two minutes into overtime, delivering the win.

    Zach Ramsey scored the first Washington goal, in the 44th minute, while Joe Dale scored the second goal in the 62nd minute. The NC State goals came in the 66th and 87th minutes, respectively.

    About the Washington road

    Washington finished the year at 16-6-2 and 7-3 in Big 10 play. They lost their first game of the Big 10 Tournament to No. 16 Michigan but earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.

    They defeated Oregon State, No. 5 SMU, No. 12 Stanford, No. 4 Maryland, No. 16 Furman and NC State in the NCAA Tournament.

    --The University of Washington football team just wrapped up its season with a 9-4 record and a win over Boise State in the LA Bowl. It was the final game in a Huskies uniform for star running back Jonah Coleman and you can read more about it here.

    --The UW men's basketball team is currently 7-3 on the season and 1-1 in Big 10 play. They'll be back in action on Dec. 19 against Seattle University at Climate Pledge Arena (8:30 p.m. PT) before playing San Diego on Dec. 22. 

    --The women's basketball team is currently 9-1, but they are 0-1 in Big 10 play. They'll take on Stanford on Dec. 19 at Stanford before taking on Pacific on Dec. 21, also on the road. They won't be back home until Dec. 29 when they play Northwestern at Alaska Airlines Arena.
