The Washington Huskies men's basketball team is in the final stretch of what has been a disappointing regular season.
Luckily for the Huskies, it appears they'll get a key contributor back for the final stretch after brief uncertainty on his availability.
In a post on "X" on Friday, Washington shared photos of sophomore forward Bryson Tucker getting practice work in with the rest of the team with the caption "welcome home."
Tucker was sporting a noticeable wrap on his thumb in the photos but was also shown putting up shots.
Tucker and the rest of Washington are currently on the east coast preparing for a Big Ten showdown against the Maryland Terrapins, which will take place at noon PT on Feb. 21 at the Xfinity Center in College Park, Md.
Tucker is a Maryland native. He was born in Bowie, Md., just under a half-hour drive from Maryland's campus.
There was a question over whether or not Tucker would be able to play against the Terrapins after he missed the Huskies' 69-57 win against the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Feb. 14.
Tucker missed the game against Minnesota due to a thumb injury he suffered in the Huskies' 63-60 loss against the Penn State Nittany Lions on Feb. 11.
The contest against the Golden Gophers marked the second injury that forced Tucker to miss games this season. He was out over a month from Nov. 10-Dec. 13 with an ankle sprain. He missed six games in that stretch.
The sophomore forward, who was one of Washington's biggest additions of the offseason after he transferred from Indiana, has been a key contributor for the Dawgs when he's been healthy.
Tucker has started 13 of the 19 games he's played this season. In those contests, he's averaged 6.2 points per game on 43.9% shooting from the floor. He's also pulled in 4.3 rebounds per game.
Tucker and the Huskies have five more games left on the regular season schedule.
In addition to the game against the Terrapins on Feb. 21 — Washington will play Rutgers at 3:30 p.m. PT on Feb. 24 at the Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, N.J.; No. 24 Wisconsin at 1 p.m. PT on Feb. 28 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle; USC at 7:30 p.m. PT on March 4 at Alaska Airlines Arena and Oregon at 8 p.m. PT on March 7 at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Ore.
After the regular season concludes, Washington will take part in the 18-team Big Ten postseason tournament, which takes place from March 10-15 at the United Center in Chicago.
