The Washington Huskies football team's 2027 recruiting class is in a good position heading into the final stretch of the cycle.

Recruiting classes won't become "official" until National Signing Day in Feb. 2027, which gives the Huskies and other programs seven months to add the final touches to their recruiting classes.

Washington could add some last-minute commitments and flips as the cycle reaches its final weeks. But for the most part, UW has the lion's share of the '27 recruiting class secured.

One thing that the Huskies have not successfully done is land a second cornerback to pair with three-star Maurice Williams.

The Huskies have missed out on several targets, including four-star Josiah Molden (committed to Oregon), four-star Kamil Loud (committed to Cal), four-star Evan Mack (committed to Arizona) and three-star Jeovanni Henley (committed to Cal).

Washington is still looking for that second cornerback to pair and could be looking to flip three-star athlete and high school teammate of four-star UW commit Gecova Doyal, J'Isaiah Mitchell.

The 6-foot-5 athlete is currently committed to Boise State as a wide receiver but received an offer from the Huskies as a cornerback.

Despite Mitchell lying in Washington's backyard, it seems like the likeliest second cornerback of the class could be a defensive back from Bradenton, Fla.

Four-star cornerback Censere Gaylord, who competed for IMG Academy, recently announced his commitment date as July 11.

The 6-foot, 165 defensive back recently cut his list of final teams down to three: the Huskies, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and Georgia Bulldogs.

July 11 could end up being a decent day for Washington's recruiting efforts. In addition to Gaylord, four-star offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough is also set to announced his commit with UW as one of his finalists.

Gaylor is ranked as the 166th-best overall player, 19th-best cornerback and 19th-best player in Florida per the 247Sports composite. He had 22 tackles, including one tackle for loss, a forced fumble, five pass breakups and four interceptions, including one pick-six, in his junior year for IMG Academy last fall.

Despite being closer in proximity to Georgia and Georgia Tech, analysts favor the Huskies to land the Florida-based defensive back.

On3 Sports has Washington as the likeliest team to land him at 80.9%, and 247Sports gave the Huskies a Crystal Ball projection to land him.

Washington's '27 recruiting class currently ranks 25th in the country per the 247Sports player ranking and composite.
