Blake Roskopf will join his high school teammate, wide receiver Zerek Sidney, in the Pacific Northwest
A day after the Washington Huskies football team were predicted to land one of the top signal-callers in the Class of 2027, that crystal ball came to fruition.
Four-star quarterback Blake Roskopf (Goodyear, Ariz.) committed to the Huskies on Tuesday, per a report on "X" from 247Sports reporter Hayes Fawcett.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound Desert Edge High School quarterback chose the Huskies over offers from North Carolina, UCLA, Mississippi State, Georgia, Indiana, Oregon and Tennessee, among others.
Roskopf is ranked as the 12th-best quarterback in the 2027 class, the third-best player in Arizona and the 200th-best player in the nation, according to 247Sports. He's ranked as the 146th-best player in the class according to the 247Sports Composite.
Roskopf has a built-in connection with another commitment from Washington's '27 recruiting class, four-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney.
Sidney and Roskopf are high school teammates. Sidney is listed as the 40th-best wide receiver in the class according to 247Sports and the sixth-best player in the class.
Desert Edge wide receiver Zerek Sidney runs a route during a 7-on-7 tournament on June 3, 2025 at Arizona Christian University in Glendale, Ariz. | Michael Chow/Arizona Republic.Roskopf finished his senior year having completed 66.1% of his passes for 2,815 yards, 37 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
Roskopf is the third four-star and 11th overall commit for the Huskies' 27 recruiting class.
The '27 class is currently comprised of: four-star defensive lineman Jon Ioane, Roskopf, Sidney, three-star wide receiver Braylon Pope, three-star cornerback/athlete Maurice Williams, three-star defensive lineman Matamatagi Uiagalelei, three-star running back Jeremy Adeyanju and three-star linebackers Isaiah Leilua, Justin Coach, Ethan Coach and Titus Osterman.
Washington's 2026 recruiting class ranked 12th in the country, which was the highest ranking for a class in program history. Several players from that cycle, including five-star offensive lineman Kodi Greene, four-star wide receiver Jordan Clay and four-star running back Brian Bonner Jr., are likely to contribute in some fashion to the team this upcoming season.
The '27 class looks on-pace to surpass the '26 recruits.
After Roskopf's commitment, the Huskies recruiting class currently ranks sixth in the nation (fifth according to the 247Sports Composite).
The five teams ranked ahead of Washington are, in order: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Southern California (USC) and Notre Dame. The only one of the team ranked ahead of Washington that has more commitments is Oklahoma (20).
Roskopf's commitment could also have interesting ripple effects towards other players the Huskies have offered.
Washington was listed as a finalist by Tacoma, Wash., native and four-star Class of '27 quarterback Sione Kaho and has an offer for four-star Michigan decommit Peter Bourque. With Roskopf now committed, it's unclear whether the Huskies will continue their pursuit of either to have multiple options in the QB room or if those two highly-touted prospects look to take their talents elsewhere.
