The Huskies landed football and baseball player Jaden Walk-Green.
The Washington Huskies football team's Class of 2027 added a versatile and athletic player to its ranks Saturday.
The Huskies landed a commitment from four-star composite safety and two-sport athlete Jaden Walk-Green on Friday. The defensive back announced his commitment on a livestream on the CBS Sports college football YouTube channel.
Walk-Green chose Washington over a final four that also included the Arizona State Sun Devils, UCLA Bruins and Vanderbilt Commodores.
Walk-Green attends Centennial High School in Corona, Calif. He's ranked as the 353rd-best overall player, 32nd-best safety and 30th-best player in California in the class, per the 247Sports composite.
Rivals has Walk-Green ranked as the 166th-best overall player, 14th-best safety and 14th-best player in the state.
Walk-Green was one of the best defensive play makers in the state his junior year last fall with Centennial.
In 2025, the 5-foot-11, 188-pound defensive back had 125 total tackles, one pass breakup, one fumble recovery returned for a touchdown and 10 interceptions, including five pick-sixes.
In addition to playing defensive back in football, Walk-Green is also a baseball player who plays the outfield.
The Huskies baseball team was also involved in the California-based player's recruitment. On the CBS Sports livestream, Walk-Green said he planned to continue to play both sports.
The Washington baseball team is coming off a solid season where it made a run to the quarterfinal, single-elimination round of the Big Ten postseason tournament before being eliminated by the Oregon Ducks.
The Huskies baseball team was hit hard by the transfer portal and lost several key contributors, including star outfielder Jackson Hotchkiss, who transferred to Arizona State.
Walk-Green is the 19th overall commitment of the '27 recruiting class for the Huskies and third defensive back to commit overall. The other two defensive backs to commit to Washington have been three-star cornerback Maurice Williams and three-star safety Isala Aisa Wily-Ava.
Walk-Green, Williams and Wily-Ava could see another addition to the secondary in the near future. Four-star '27 cornerback Censere Gaylord was recently predicted to land with UW.
Walk-Green's commitment put the Huskies' recruiting class back in the top 25, per 247Sports. UW ranked 26th entering Saturday.
The 24 teams ranked ahead of Washington per 247Sports are, in order: Texas A&M, Miami, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas, Texas Tech, Florida, Auburn, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Southern California (USC), Georgia, Ohio State, UCLA, Penn State, Nebraska, Cal, Wisconsin, LSU, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Michigan and Minnesota.
