Sione Kaho, a Tacoma, Wash., native and four-star quarterback, committed to the Cardinal on Thursday

The Washington Huskies football team is currently on pace to ink the best recruiting class in program history.

Currently, the Huskies have the ninth-ranked recruiting class in the country according to 247Sports. UW has 12 players from the Class of 2027 committed. It's 12th came recently in the form of three-star tight end Zach Albright.

The eight teams ranked ahead of Washington in 247Sports' recruiting class rankings are, in order: Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Southern California (USC), Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Kentucky and Louisville.

The Huskies' recruiting class is comprised of three four-stars, including quarterback Blake Roskopf.

The signal-caller is the high-school teammate of another four-star UW commitment, wide receiver Zerek Sidney. Both players will play their senior seasons this fall and winter at Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Ariz.

Roskopf, who's listed at 6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, is ranked as the 151st-best player, 12th-best quarterback and third-best player in Arizona in the class, per the 247Sports Composite.

Roskopf was the first signal-caller to commit in the class among several that Washington has been courting during the recruiting cycle.

One of the several quarterbacks that the Huskies recruited, Sione Kaho, recently chose to head to the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Four-star QB Sione Kaho, who attends Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Wash., had Washington, Stanford, Cal, Oregon and Tennessee among his finalists. The 6-foot-2, 205 pound signal-caller is ranked as the 343rd-best player, 24th-best quarterback and fourth-best player in Washington per the 247Sports Composite.

Kaho opted to commit to the Stanford Cardinal on Thursday rather than stay home with the Huskies.

When Roskopf committed to Washington, it seemed like a sign that it would be unlikely for other four-star-or-better signal-callers in the class, including Kaho and Michigan decommit Peter Bourque, would join the program. Still, earning some depth in the quarterback room would have been a big boost to the class.

Even still the Huskies managed to land a built-in connection in the '27 class with the commitments of Sidney and Roskopf.

If there is an additional glass half-full to not landing Kaho, it's that he won't be heading to the Big Ten to play for Washington's arch-rivals, Oregon.

The 12 players currently committed to the Huskies from the '27 recruiting class are: Roskopf, Sidney, Albright, four-star defensive lineman Jon Ioane, three-star wide receiver Braylon Pope, three-star athlete/cornerback Maurice Williams, three-star running back Jeremy Adeyanju, three-star defensive lineman Matamatagi Uiagalelei and three-star linebackers Isaiah Leilua, Ethan Coach, Justin Coach and Titus Osterman.
