The Huskies are continuing their extended effort in recruiting for next year and beyond.

Washington Huskies men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle was only able to land one player from the high school graduating Class of 2026, three-star small forward Lattimore Ford.

Amidst year-over-year turnover in the roster and the coaching staff, Sprinkle and the rest of the program is making sure the team has better fortunes for the Class of 2027 and beyond.

The Huskies have ramped up their recruiting efforts for several five- and four-star players in the Class of '27, and recently hosted another recruiting target.

Washington recently hosted four-star shooting guard/small forward Gene Roebuck on an official visit, via a post on "X" from SeaTown Sports' Kevin Cacabelos showing screenshots of the visit from Roebuck's official Instagram account.

Roebuck is a near-consensus top-50 player in the '27 class and one of the top players in California.

The 247Sports composite has Roebuck ranked as the 47th-best player in the nation, 10th-best small forward and third-best player in California.

Rivals Industry Rankings has Roebuck in similar standing, with an overall ranking of 45th-best in the class, the ninth-best shooting guard and the fourth-best player in California.

On3 Sports' prediction model currently has Roebuck's recruitment as a three-team race between the Huskies, the California Golden Bears and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The model has Cal with the best odds at landing the 6-foot-4, 215-pound wing at 33.2%, Washington with the second-best odds at 29.1% and Gonzaga with the third-best odds at 24.1%.

Roebuck's recruitment is the latest in a series of high-profile recruiting efforts for the UW men's basketball team.

The Huskies are either one of the final teams being considered, have hosted or are scheduled to host several top prospects in the '27 class, including: four-star shooting guard Jimmie Haywood, four-star power forward Deng Ngor, five-star power forward Ahmed Nur and five-star small forward Malachi Jordan.

Washington also made a move to its staff in efforts of landing several of those players.

The Huskies hired former Syracuse Orange men's basketball general manager Alex Kline to the same role earlier this month. While at Syracuse, Kline's roles included assisting and overseeing in recruiting and Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) funds and opportunities. He helped the program land notable recruits such as Kiyan Anthony (son of Syracuse legend and longtime NFL player Carmelo Anthony) and Sadiq White Jr.

Washington is casting a wide net of very talented '27 graduates. And if the program can land just several of them, any roster turnover Sprinkle will have to oversee from this upcoming season to the 2027-28 campaign will go over a lot smoother compared to his first two years at the helm of the team.
