The Washington Huskies men's basketball team is still searching for its first winning season under head coach Danny Sprinkle.

Sprinkle has guided the Huskies to a 13-18 and 16-17 record in his first two seasons at the helm of the program, respectively, which has coincided with Washington's first two years playing in the Big Ten. Sprinkle has posted a combined record of 11-29 against in-conference competition his first two seasons.

As he has his first two years, Sprinkle has had to oversee an almost-complete roster overhaul and has brought in nine new players to the program. That overhaul has included changes to the coaching staff and overall structure of the team, as well. Former assistant coach Quincy Pondexter left to take the head coach job with the Chicago Bulls' G-League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls. The university also hired former Syracuse Orange general manager Alex Kline to the same role.

The UW men's basketball team will hope that these changes lead to the team being competitive in the Big Ten for the first time, and the team recently announced the schedule for its in-conference competition for the 2026-27 season.

-- The Huskies' Big Ten schedule consists of 20 games, equally split between home and away contests. As has been the case in previous seasons, Washington will play UCLA, USC and Oregon two times each: one on the road and one at home for all three teams.

-- Washington's final two nonconference games (vs. Baylor on Dec. 19 and vs. Cornell on Dec. 28) will take place between the team's Big Ten contests against UCLA on Dec. 13 and Michigan on Jan. 2. The game against Baylor will be a part of the Seattle Holiday Classic at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle.

-- The Huskies avoided east coast trips to Rutgers (Piscataway, N.J.) or Maryland (College Park, Md.) but will still have one game out east to College Station, Pa., to play Penn State. Aside from that contest against the Nittany Lions, Washington won't venture out past the Midwest. Washington will play Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Minnesota and Wisconsin on the road in that region.
