The Huskies are looking to continue bloodlines going with its latest offer to Brayden Bonik.
The Washington Huskies football team is still looking to add the final touches to the 2027 recruiting class.
Currently, the Huskies have 13 players committed in the '27 class, which ranks 12th in the country per 247Sports. Several other notable players, such as top 200 recruits — four-star safety Gavin Williams and four-star wide receiver Tre Moore — have named Washington among the final teams they're considering.
Despite the fact the Huskies' crop of '27 recruits are still yet to be finalized, that hasn't prevented the program from looking ahead to the 2028 graduates. And Washington recently offered a player that has both NFL and UW ties.
According to a post on "X" from Huskies Wire reporter Lars Hanson, the Huskies recently extended an offer to three-star class of '28 linebacker Brayden Bonik.
Bonik currently attends Fort Bend Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas. He's ranked as the 187th-best overall player, 14th-best linebacker and 22nd-best player in the state of Texas in his class according to the 247Sports Composite.
Bonik has also received offers from other notable programs such as Florida, Georgia, Houston, Colorado, Baylor, Arizona, Nebraska, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and others.
Bonik's father, former Oklahoma State linebacker Devin Bonik, was an assistant coach under former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio from 2003-09.
Del Rio's son, Luke Del Rio, is currently the Huskies assistant wide receivers coach and offensive quality control coach. This season will mark Luke Del Rio's third with Washington. The younger Del Rio briefly left the program to serve as the offensive coordinator of the Paris Musketeers of the European Football Alliance in 2025.
Jack Del Rio has visited the UW campus several times over his son's tenure on the coaching staff.

UW's 2025 recruiting class ranked 27th in the country per 247Sports. The '26 class ranked 12th in the country (not including transfer portal additions). The '26 class set a record for the highest-ranked recruiting class in program history. Several players from the crop of '26 high school graduates, including five-star offensive lineman Kodi Greene and four-star wide receiver Jordan Clay, are expected to true freshmen contributors.
Depending on whether Washington can land commitments from several of the players who've named the team as finalists, UW could exceed the program-best ranking of the '26 class. And based on the recent offer to Bonik, Fisch and the rest of the coaching staff are making sure the program's recruiting successes continue.
