Four-star wide receiver Braylon Pope committed to the Huskies

The Washington Huskies football team inked one of the best recruiting classes in the country on National Signing Day on Dec. 3.

The Huskies earned letters of commitment from 25 players in the class of 2026, including one five-star player, 10 four-star recruits and 14 three-star players.

With those 25 players, Washington's '26 class ranked 12th in the country, according to 247Sports. That ranks fifth in the Big Ten behind USC (No. 1 national class), Oregon (No. 3), Ohio State (No. 6) and Michigan (No. 11).

On Dec. 15, the Huskies earned another massive recruiting win in the class of '27.

Four-star wide receiver Braylon Pope announced his commitment to Washington in a post on "X."

Pope committed to the Huskies over other programs ranging from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to Group of Six to Power Four levels, including Cal, Southern California (USC), UNLV, Washington State, Idaho, San Diego State, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State, Miami, BYU and Colorado State.

Washington originally extended an offer to Pope on May 22, 2024.

Pope, 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, is ranked a four-star receiver according to the 247Sports composite. The Sumner, Wash., native is ranked as the top player in Washington in the class of 2027 cycle, the 26th-best wide receiver and the 193rd-best player in the country, according to the composite.

Including the class of '26, Pope is the eighth player from the Pacific Northwest and sixth from Washington to commit to the Huskies in the last year. He's the 12th four-star recruit or better from the '26-27 recruiting classes.

Other PNW players from the class of '27 the Dawgs have extended offers to include four-star quarterback Sione Kaho, three-star tight end Zach Albright, three-star offensive tackle Gecova Doyal, three-star edge Ty Tautolo, four-star defensive lineman Tevita Nonu and three-star athletes Maurice Williams and J'Isaiah Mitchell.

Pope is the first "hard commit" in the '27 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.

Washington recently concluded the season with a dominant 38-10 win against the Boise State Broncos in the Los Angeles Bowl on Dec. 13 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The victory gave the Huskies a 9-4 record on the season — a three-win improvement from the program's first year under head coach Jedd Fisch in 2024.

Fisch has already one successful program-rebuild on his resume. He took over as head coach of the Arizona Wildcats in 2021.

Arizona finished 2023, Fisch's last year manning the program, with a 10-3 record and finished No. 11 in the Associated Press top 25 poll.

With the year-to-year improvement and recent recruiting successes, Fisch is on-pace to have a similarly successful rebuild with the Huskies that he did with the Wildcats.
