One of the Washington Huskies' best offensive players will forego his final year of eligibility to join the professional ranks.
Redshirt junior wide receiver Denzel Boston announced on Christmas Eve that he would enter the 2026 NFL Draft.
Boston was the Huskies' leading offensive target in 2025. He caught 62 passes for 881 yards (14.2 yards per reception) and 11 touchdowns. His 11 touchdown catches were tied for sixth in the country.
Boston led Washington in receptions, yards and touchdowns this past season. He had 20 more catches, 321 more yards and four more receiving touchdowns than the player second on the team in all three statistics, Dezmen Roebuck.
Across his four seasons in the Pacific Northwest, including his true freshman year in 2022 where he ultimately redshirted, Boston registered 132 catches for 1,781 yards (13.5 yards per catch) and 20 touchdowns.
Boston, listed at 6-foot-4, 209 pounds, is a Washington native and was originally recruited as a three-star recruit (per 247Sports) out of Puyallup, Wash.
Despite having offers in place from Arizona State, Arizona, Washington State and Eastern Washington, Boston proved to be one of the rare players in college players that stuck with the program through several coaching changes.
Boston was originally recruited by former head coach Jimmy Lake's staff. He committed to the school Aug. 4, 2021, before Lake was fired Nov. 14.
Boston stuck with his commitment after the Huskies hired current Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer.
After DeBoer left to join the Crimson Tide, the Emerald Ridge high School alum chose to remain in the Pacific Northwest, where he's flourished under current head coach Jedd Fisch.
Under DeBoer, Boston had seven catches for 66 yards from '22-23. In two years under Fisch, he reeled in 125 catches for 1,715 yards and 20 touchdowns. He finished his collegiate career with back-to-back seasons of at least 60 catches, 830 (or more) yards and nine touchdowns.
Boston could end up being one of the highest-graded receivers in the 2026 draft.
In an ESPN mock draft published on Dec. 10, Kirby Yates predicted the Buffalo Bills to draft Boston 25th overall in the first round.
Yates had the following assessment on Boston's profile and potential fit with the Bills:
It's no mystery that the Bills are still looking for a game-altering receiver after Keon Coleman's down year and Khalil Shakir's inconsistent campaign. Boston has the potential to check that box for Buffalo with his size at 6-4 and alignment versatility. He routinely got the better of defenders in the red zone over the past two seasons, using his frame to snag 19 receiving touchdowns. He was dependable in the big slot role, too, with two drops on 189 targets since 2024. The Bills have 15 attributed drops this season, which is tied for 17th in the NFL.
Boston is currently graded as the fourth-best wide receiver and 24th-best overall player available in the draft, according to ESPN's big board.
The 2026 NFL Draft takes place from April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.
