SEATTLE — This year has been a good one for former Washington Huskies cornerbacks.
Trent McDuffie became the highest-paid cornerback in football history signed a four-year, $124 million contract with $100 million guaranteed with the Los Angeles Rams.
More recent Husky cornerbacks, Tacario Davis and Ephesians Prysock, are attempting to carve their own respective paths to the NFL.
Prysock and Davis participated in the 2026 NFL Combine and posted solid-to-great times and marks in multiple events.
Both Davis and Prysock also took part of the team's pro day at the Dempsey indoor facility Monday in Seattle.
Like the combine, both Davis and Prysock had solid showings, including several athletic plays in cornerback drills.
Prysock was a two-year starter for Washington after following head Jedd Fisch from Arizona ahead of the 2024 season. Last year was Davis' first with UW but he was limited to just seven games due to a rib injury.
Despite being on the field for only seven games, Davis and Prysock are two significant losses that the Huskies will need to fill for the secondary to have success in 2026.
However, it seems clear who will take over at least one of those spots.
Dylan Robinson committed to Washington as a four-star athlete in the Class of 2025. The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder played cornerback for the Dawgs last season and earned enough faith from the coaching staff to be a rotation player.
In his true freshman season, Robinson played 12 games and posted 16 total tackles (12 solo), including 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Robinson also earned rave reviews from one of his former teammates in the secondary.
"Dylan Robinson — he's next up. He's gonna be that guy," Prysock said Monday. "Just got to watch him. ... He's a big, physical guy. Bigger than me and (Davis), honestly. He can move as well as us and he's just a freshman. When I was young like him, I probably couldn't move like him. ... Moving like us is great for him. He's gonna be locking down some of the best receivers."
It's a great indicator of the talent and ability of a program to consistently churn out NFL-caliber talent. But the catch-all of that fact is that those same programs need to replace high-level talent year-over-year, especially in the modern age of college sports with the transfer portal.
If Prysock's prediction for Robinson comes to past, the Huskies' cornerback room will be able to maintain its quality of play with the former and Davis embarking on their NFL careers.
