    Myles Gaskin, who played for the Huskies from 2015-18, will stay in the Pacific Northwest

    The Seattle Seahawks are in a solid position coming out of its bye week.

    Seattle has a 5-2 record and a 1-1 record in the NFC West coming out of the break.

    Over the bye, the Seahawks added to their running back room by bringing back a former Washington Huskies running back and Washington native.

    Running back Myles Gaskin was signed by Seattle to their practice squad on Thursday.

    Gaskin was signed by the Seahawks to their practice squad on Oct. 1 and released Wednesday.

    Gaskin, a Lynnwood, Wash., native and graduate of O'Dea high school in Seattle, played for the Huskies from 2015-18.

    While he was with Washington, Gaskin rushed set a program record with 5,323 career rushing yards. He ran for 57 touchdowns in his four years with the Huskies, which is also a program record. Gaskin has three of the top ten rushing seasons in program history. He ran for 1,380 yards in 2017, 1,373 in 2016 and 1,302 in 2015. Those trio of years rank eighth, ninth and tenth all-time in Washington's history in single-season rushing yards, respectively.

    Twenty-one of Gaskin's rushing touchdowns came in 2017, which is second-most in a single season behind Corey Dillon's 24 in 1996.

    Gaskin was a three-time All-Pac-12 selection in his college career. He was first-team in 2016 and second-team in 2017-18.

    Gaskin was picked in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. He played in South Beach from 2019-22 and has spent the next three seasons bouncing around the the league with the Minnesota Vikings (twice), Los Angeles Rams, Jacksonville Jaguars, the Baltimore Ravens and now the Seahawks. He hasn't played in a regular season game since 2023.

    In his career, Gaskin has amassed 1,355 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 361 carries. He's caught 101 passes for 701 yards and six touchdowns.
