Dylan Mingo, the No. 6 overall player in the class of 2026, has the Huskies in the final four teams he's considering.

The Washington Huskies men's basketball team entered this season with a completely retooled roster that has shown promise through first six games of the season.

Between gets in the transfer portal and freshmen recruits, only two players on the 15-man roster were returners.

Despite not being at full strength due to a slew of ankle sprains, the Huskies are 5-1. Their only loss was a 78-69 result against Baylor on Nov. 9.

Washington was able to curate a solid group of talented players. Head coach Danny Sprinkle and the rest of the recruiting staff are working at doing the same thing for next season, and it could start with one of the best players in the 2026 class.

Five-star combo guard Dylan Mingo, who's ranked as the No. 6 recruit in the country according to 247Sports, narrowed down his list of schools to four for next year. The Huskies were included among the final four alongside Penn State, Baylor and North Carolina.

Washington is yet to land an official recruit in the 2026 class but has offers out for several blue chip prospects, including Mingo.

Mingo took an official visit with the Huskies on Aug. 1 and was impressed enough to put him with the other aforementioned programs.

Washington's inclusion in Mingo's top four is a testament to the recruiting skills of Sprinkle and his staff, especially when considering Mingo's other options.

North Carolina is a basketball blue blood. It's made five NCAA Tournament championship games since 2005 and has won three of them.

Baylor has made six NCAA Tournaments in a row from 2019-2025 (2020 tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic) and won a national championship in '21.

Penn State doesn't have the historical NCAA Tournament success as Baylor or North Carolina. The program has made two NCAA Tournaments since 2011. But Dylan Mingo's older brother, Kayden Mingo, currently plays for the Nittany Lions.

Being able to land Mingo would be a huge recruiting win for the Huskies and Sprinkle. He would be the highest-rated recruit for the current staff.

Washington is also one of the final six teams being considered by four-star Jamyn Sondrup.

Dylan Mingo was named the MVP of the 2025 National Basketball Players Association camp. He averaged 23.8 points per game, 6.8 assists per game and 6.5 rebounds per game in the camp.
