The Baltimore Ravens dropped a bombshell on Tuesday that their splash trade will no longer go through.

Trades aren’t official until the start of the new league year which will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET, and one of the blockbuster ones that preceded the NFL legal negotiation period is no longer going through. Per the Las Vegas Raiders, who released a statement on Tuesday on X, the Baltimore Ravens have nixed the Maxx Crosby trade, with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reporting that it was due to Crosby failing his physical. That’s often the reason that trades don’t go through, as they’re contingent on passing a physical, and Crosby had knee surgery that he is still recovering from.

As a result, the Ravens backed out of the trade for the publicly disgruntled Raiders star, one that would have sent two Baltimore first rounders to the Raiders in exchange for the All-Pro edge rusher. That would have been their No. 14 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft and their 2027 first round pick. Crosby had made it clear he wanted out of Las Vegas, and he was pretty closer to getting his wish, but unfortunately, that will no longer be the case based on the statement Las Vegas released.

Here is the full story from Ravens Roundtable writer James Brizuela on the stunning halt of plans in Baltimore, and what the future now holds for the franchise now that they’ll suddenly be without Crosby in their future plans.

Here is the full story from Raiders Roundtable writer Bob McCullough on the shocking reversal that sends Crosby back to Las Vegas for now.

It would be a bit surprising to see the sides come to an agreement after the pretty clear language in the statement and the public releasing of it. The news was shocking, to put it mildly, and is a massive disappointment for Baltimore.
