To say that the Baltimore Ravens backed out of the trade with the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby was stunning would be an understatement, but the Ravens shocked the NFL world with that shocking reversal of the biggest trade of this offseason on Tuesday evening as a result of Crosby failing his physical. Now, they have pivoted to fill that void with one of the more coveted free agents, and at a hefty cost. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Baltimore has agreed to terms with free agent defensive end Trey Hendrickson. The two sides reportedly agreed to a four-year, $112 million deal that has incentives that bring the total worth up to $120 million. That includes $60 million guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.
It also keeps the four-time Pro Bowler in the AFC North poaching Hendrickson from the Cincinnati Bengals. Most importantly, it immediately solves the problem for the Ravens that arose in the last day after backing out of the Crosby trade and not backing down from another blockbuster move. Medical concerns popped up during Crosby’s physical that ultimately caused Baltimore to change courses. That left the Ravens without a plan for their pass rush in 2026. That will be no longer.

The Ravens tied for the second-fewest sacks in team history last season with a measly 30 sacks. They now will add one of the best if not best players left on the market in Henderson. While he did end his 2025 campaign on injured reserve, his 2024 season was electric. The All-Pro led the league with 17.5 sacks that year - more than half of Baltimore’s total sacks last season.
