Tests confirmed that Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams avoided a major injury to his hamstring, according to reports. Find out the latest on the Bears' quarterback.

Bears fans were just informed with a critical injury update on quarterback Caleb Williams.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero's sources, "Bears QB Caleb Williams avoided any major injury to his hamstring Sunday, tests confirmed today -- and the team isn't even ruling him out for next Monday's game against the Eagles."

Bears head coach Ben Johnson told Jeff Joniak, the Bears' play-by-play announcer, on ESPN1000 this morning that Williams is expected to be "week to week" and that he will "likely miss some time."

Williams injured his right hamstring with 7:42 left in the fourth quarter as the Bears' quarterback was running to his left. The Bears were down by three and on the Minnesota 6-yard line before Williams was injured.

After the 9-3 loss to the Vikings, Johnson mentioned that Williams was in "good spirits," and that was also echoed by some of his teammates who saw Williams in the locker room. Left tackle Braxton Jones said the Bears' quarterback shook hands and let them know that "We're going to be good for the next one."

Rookie defensive back Malik Muhammad spoke to Williams yesterday, and said, "He should be good. I asked him after the game. He will be good."

The Bears will host the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football for their Week 3 matchup at Soldier Field. If Williams does end up missing that game, which would be his first time being ruled out in his NFL career, Tyson Bagent will serve as the team's backup.

He drove the Bears down the field to the Vikings' 12-yard line with :06 left in the game, but edge rusher Dallas Turner sacked the Bears' quarterback to seal the victory for Minnesota.

Since it was reported that Williams may be dealing with a grade 1 hamstring injury, certain individuals on social media have criticized how the quarterback dealt with the injury, yelling with frustration and having to be carted off the field. Anything and everything Williams does is scrutinized under a microscope.

Bears fans will be able to put this all behind them once Williams returns to the football field. The early indications are that the third-year quarterback avoided a major injury, a positive sign for the Bears' organization. Until then, Bagent will have to keep the team afloat with the Eagles, New York Jets and Green Bay Packers next up on the schedule.

Johnson is scheduled to speak to the media later today at 3 p.m., providing more clarity on Williams' situation.
