The Chicago Bears will host the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field in Week 3. Here is an early preview of the Monday Night Game.
For the second-straight season, the Chicago Bears will face the Philadelphia Eagles in prime time. This time the matchup between the two NFC teams will take place at Soldier Field on Monday Night Football.
On Black Friday last season in Week 13, coach Ben Johnson's team went on the road to Lincoln Financial Field and defeated Nick Sirianni's Eagles, 24-15, in the dominating performance.
Johnson's offense finished with 281 rushing yards, the second-highest total for Chicago in 2025. Rookie running Kyle Monangai ended with 22 carries for 130 yards and a rushing touchdown. Veteran back D'Andre Swift added another 125 rushing yards and a rushing TD on 18 attempts.
Caleb Williams finished the game 17 of 36 for 154 yards and threw one touchdown and an interception. He lone touchdown pass occurred with 6:19 left in the fourth quarter. Williams found Cole Kmet in the left portion of the end zone on a designed rollout to the left. That score put the Bears up 24-9.
After the game, Johnson celebrated with his team by tearing off his shirt and leading the "good, better, best" chant. It was an iconic moment in a season that featured plenty of them.

No More A.J.
One of the bigger storylines from the Eagles' 2025 season was the relationship between quarterback Jalen Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown. Maybe the two players' up-and-down chemistry had nothing to do with the Eagles trading Brown to the New England Patriots, but Philadelphia will look different without the playmaker on offense.
In the meeting last year against the Bears, Brown caught 10 passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
To help fill the void with Brown gone, the Eagles used the 20th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to select USC wide receiver Makai Lemon. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound receiver caught 79 passes for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns last season for the Trojans.
Lemon played against Bears' first-round draft pick Dillon Thieneman in 2025. Lemon caught seven passes for 34 yards and two touchdowns in that game.
A Familiar Foe
Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is no stranger when it comes to adding pass rushers. The rich got richer after the Eagles sent two third-round picks to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Jonathan Greenard.
The 6-foot-3, 259-pound edge rusher now joins an Eagles' defensive front that has Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Nolan Smith Jr. Up front, the defense retains its two sack producers from a year ago: edge rusher Jalyx Hunt (6.5 sacks) and interior defensive lineman Moro Ojomo (6 sacks).
In five games played against the Bears, Greenard registered 3.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and 16 total tackles.
