There was some clarity given on what a potential Chicago Bears trade for Las Vegas Raiders star pass rusher Maxx Crosby would take.
Rumors have been swirling this offseason, and even Bears General Manager Ryan Poles was seen smiling when asked about it at his end-of-season media availability.
Crosby himself has been very public about how much he admires the game of quarterback Caleb Williams. The pass rusher talked about Williams' throw in the Divisional Round of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Rams, and how impressive it was.
A mock trade with Crosby and the Bears had Chicago sending receiver D.J. Moore, a 2026 first-round pick, a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick to the Raiders.
However, NFL Analyst Jay Glazer believes that to get a player like Crosby, teams would have to give up more than the Green Bay Packers did for Micah Parsons. For reference, the Packers had to send two first-round picks and defensive lineman Kenny Clark to the Dallas Cowboys.
"Probably more than Micah," Glazer said. "So, the day it happened, no less than 20 teams called me and asked, 'Dude, is this real? Can we get him? What's it for?' I'm not there yet, but yes, it's real."
If you look at the careers of Parsons and Crosby, both have made the same number of Pro Bowls, at five. Parsons has finished with double-digit sacks in each of his five NFL seasons, while Crosby has four seasons with 10 sacks or more.
They are also both being paid over $100 million, via Spotrac.
Parsons is on a four-year, $186 million deal with the Packers, and Crosby is getting paid $106.5 million over three years with the Raiders.
There's a definite need for another solid pass rusher for the Bears. Montez Sweat had 10 sacks, with 53 total tackles and 13 TFLs. However, the rest of the team struggled as a whole in sacking opposing quarterbacks.
Chicago was 22nd in sacks this past season, ending with 35.
Having both Sweat and Crosby blitzing quarterbacks simultaneously sounds like a dream scenario for this Bears defense. Crosby recorded 10 sacks, 73 total tackles and 28 TFLs in 2025 for Las Vegas.
It seems like Chicago may need to break the bank to land a player of Crosby's quality. The question is, are they willing to give up that much to get him?
