The Chicago Bears put their fans through an emotional roller coaster weekly during the 2025 season.
It all started in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Bears were down 24-19 in the fourth quarter and scored a touchdown with 1:34 left to make it 25-24. The Raiders had plenty of time to work with, and got into range for a go-ahead field goal with 34 seconds left.
The Bears survived, as Daniel Carlson's 54-yard field goal attempt was blocked. Then the Bears won the next by the same score, this time versus the Washington Commanders.
With Cairo Santos out with an injury, the Bears called upon Jake Moody, elevating him from the practice squad just hours before kickoff. Moody hit the game-winning field goal as the Bears had another fourth-quarter comeback.
Then, there was the barn burner that was the game with the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bears won that game 47-42 after a Colston Loveland go-ahead touchdown.
Chicago had plenty more comebacks in the games with the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and two against the Green Bay Packers.
The first came in overtime at Soldier Field in Week 16. Then, the Bears had another insane comeback over the Packers at Soldier Field again in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
Given how wild the finishes to the Bears' games this season were, they were must-see TV, and RedZone's Scott Hanson agreed.
Hanson reminisced on how often the Bears stunned him with their comeback wins in the 2025 season. Hanson believed the rebuild was way ahead of schedule, and even more good things were yet to come in the Windy City.
"They were visionary. Every week we're like, 'He did it again. They did it again.'" Hanson said. "Look at the Chicago Bears. Way ahead of schedule. They've got the coach. They've got the quarterback. Good days ahead at Soldier Field."
I think most Bears fans would agree that the 2025 campaign was a pleasant surprise.
Chicago went 11-6 in the regular season and made the postseason for the first time since the Matt Nagy era. The Bears' season ended in the Divisional Round with a 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Hopefully, the Bears can reach even newer heights in 2026, as the Ben Johnson era enters year two after exceeding expectations. The sky is the limit for this team.
