Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has earned the nickname "Iceman" after his ability not to be phased in the game's most significant moments.
Countless times this season, he's guided the offense down the field, engineering various fourth-quarter comebacks. The same was true on Saturday night, as he threw two touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to secure a 31-27 win over the Green Bay Packers.
The 18-point comeback win ranks third all-time in franchise history. The most significant deficit the Bears have ever overcome is by 20 points.
Williams finished with 361 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. The most important of his touchdown passes was the one to D.J. Moore that Ben Johnson drew up. The offense executed it almost perfectly, as Moore was basically wide open.
The Bears are moving on and will face the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. One thing that Williams and Rams' quarterback Matthew Stafford do very well in the fourth quarter is expected points added.
In the fourth quarter of both of their Wild Card games, Williams and Stafford excelled in that area. Williams had a rating of 11.66, while Stafford finished with a 9.42. The two quarterbacks lock in when the game is on the line, meaning that fans could be in for a real treat on Sunday.
The Rams were down 24-20 in the fourth quarter. Stafford threw touchdown passes to Kyren Williams and Colby Parkinson to secure the win.
The Bears were down 21-9 in the final quarter, and Williams found Olamide Zaccheaus and Moore in the end zone for his two touchdowns.
There have been numerous 4th quarter comebacks by the Bears this season. It all started with the 25-24 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, then the Bears won by the same score against the Washington Commanders in the following game.
Then there were the epic wins over the Cincinnati Bengals, the New York Giants, and the Packers in Week 16.
Needless to say, you definitely don't want to give Stafford or Williams too much time in the fourth quarter. Fans of both teams are going to be in for a real nail-biter if that's the case.
Aside from Bears-Rams, the other NFC Divisional matchup will feature the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. It will be rematch of the Week 18 meeting that determined the No. 1 seed in the conference.
Is another fourth-quarter comeback in store for Williams and the Bears?
