Super Bowl champ Scotty Miller tries out for the Bears. Can his veteran presence elevate Chicago's receiver corps and bring championship experience?
The Chicago Bears are assembling their list of undrafted free agents now that the 2026 NFL Draft has come to a close.
I made a list of all the UDFAs the Bears have signed, including some players the team is letting try out. Some names fans might know include Louisville quarterback Miller Moss, Wyoming offensive lineman Caden Barnett, and Florida State receiver Squirrel White.
Names like Kansas running back Leshon Williams, Illinois offensive lineman Josh Kreutz, and Michigan State linebacker Wayne Matthews III are among the undrafted rookies trying out for the Bears.
Another player trying out for the Bears is not a rookie but a Super Bowl champion.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Chicago is having Super Bowl champ Scotty Miller in for a tryout.
Miller was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they won the Super Bowl during the 2020 season with Tom Brady at the helm. That big milestone came in Miller's second season in the league.
Milled stayed in Tampa Bay for four seasons, recording 924 receiving yards with four touchdowns. His best season came in 2020, accounting for 501 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
He joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2023 after the Buccaneers declined to offer him another contract. Miller finished that season with 161 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The Falcons moved on from Miller after that season, and he went on to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in the Steel City for two seasons, accounting for 131 receiving yards.
It would be intriguing to see where Miller fits in with the Bears' receiving room.
The franchise already has Rome Odunze, Luther Burden and Jahdae Walker in place, with Kalif Raymond in the slot. Maurice Alexander and J.P. Richardson look to be among the reserves.
Plus, Zavion Thomas and undrafted rookies Omari Kelly and Squirrel White are now on the team after signing their contracts.
What Miller brings to the table is a veteran receiver who has been to the mountaintop of competing for a Super Bowl. Chicago is trying to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2007.
The Bears lost to the Indianapolis Colts the last time they went to the big game.
After moving on from D.J. Moore this offseason, the Bears don't really have a true veteran presence at receiver outside of Raymond, who has mostly been used as a returner.
Adding Miller to the rotation would definitely help with that and give them a player with Super Bowl experience under his belt.
Why not let Miller try out for the team?
