People associated with the Chicago Bears know all about the "Iceman" nickname that Caleb Williams earned last season.
The nickname came from how calm and collected Williams was under pressure throughout the season. He had a hand in many of the Bears' fourth-quarter comebacks in 2025.
It started with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Bears were down 24-19, and Williams led the offense on a scoring drive to make it 25-24 after a two-point conversion. The Raiders attempted a field goal with 38 seconds left, but the special teams came up huge.
The Bears blocked the field goal to get the win.
Chicago won the following game 25-24 after Williams got Jake Moody into position for a game-winner.
Williams and the Bears nearly gave fans a heart attack after pulling out a win against the Cincinnati Bengals. Colston Loveland scored the go-ahead touchdown after bouncing off multiple defenders.
The second-year quarterback proved time and time again that he could withstand the pressure of delivering a fourth-quarter comeback.
Now, he's trying to make sure that no one else can stake their claim to the "Iceman" mantle. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, Williams is trying to register a trademark for it in hopes of selling apparel associated with the nickname.
The logo is apparently going to feature Williams' mid-throw, similar to the "Jumpman" logo that Michael Jordan has.
The Bears were able to reach the postseason for the first time since 2020 in just the first year of Ben Johnson's tenure in the Windy City. Williams and the offense had one more late-game comeback in them before their season ended.
The Bears were down 17-10 late in the fourth quarter to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round. Chicago got in the red zone, but found itself needing a fourth-down conversion.
Williams felt heavy pressure but somehow delivered a touchdown strike to tight end Cole Kmet to tie the game and force overtime.
Sadly, the magic ended in overtime. Williams threw an interception, then the Rams went down and kicked the game-winning field goal to advance to the NFC Championship Game.
It's going to be tough for this team to reach the postseason in 2026. This is just the nature of the NFL and how unforgiving it is.
Fans have to feel good knowing that the quarterback position is locked up for years to come. For Williams, he's trying to lock up the rights to his nickname.
