All signs point to a potential Maxx Crosby trade THIS week. Several teams are inquiring about the Raiders' star pass rusher.

The Chicago Bears could be the closest they've ever been to trading for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby.

It seems like the Crosby rumors have fueled the Bears' offseason, with NFL Analyst Jay Glazer reporting that he believed it would take more than what the Green Bay Packers traded for Micah Parsons.

Just as a reminder, the Packers sent two first-round picks and Kenny Clark to the Dallas Cowboys.

Then, there were questions about whether a trade was possible before free agency due to Crosby's meniscus injury from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

Now, there was a new wrinkle in the saga added on Monday.

Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer weighed in, saying not only is a Crosby trade likely, but that it will happen sometime this week.

Breer shared that the Bears, Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams have all been asking about Crosby's availability.

"I’d lean toward a Maxx Crosby trade happening, and maybe this week," Breer said. "But there’s going to have to be some needle-threading. I don’t think the Raiders want to go through the song-and-dance of shopping him, nor do I believe Crosby wants it advertised that he’s looking for suitors, given his bond with owner Mark Davis, and his view of himself as a Raider."

Crosby would provide an immediate solution to the Bears' pass rush woes. Chicago has struggled to sack opposing quarterbacks for years now. Montez Sweat became the first Bears player to finish with 10 sacks in a season since Robert Quinn in 2021.

Even with Sweat's breakout year, the team still ranked 22nd in the NFL with 35 sacks in 2025.

Securing a trade for Crosby could be a telling sign of where the Bears want to go in the 2026 NFL Draft. General Manager Ryan Poles said that the edge rushers in this year's class were deeper than expected.

This means that the Bears may be more inclined to select an interior defensive lineman early in the draft instead. Chicago needs help on the interior, too, allowing the sixth-most rushing yards (134.5) per game last season.

There are a lot of different ways that the Bears can go with their early selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. Bringing in Crosby would wrap up one major team need for Chicago this offseason.

If what Breer says is true, we may get a Crosby trade before the start of free agency.
