Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles was spotted at Arizona State's Pro Day on Friday. Here are some players the Bears could be targeting on from the Sun Devils.
Instead of “Where’s Waldo?”, the game Bears fans should be playing right now is “Where’s Poles?” – as in, Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles.
For a Bears team continuing to improve under head coach Ben Johnson, the 2026 NFL Draft will be a pivotal part of helping the roster take another step this upcoming season.
The Arizona State Sun Devils have some prospects that should intrigue Poles and the Bears' organization.
Starting with offensive tackle Max Iheanachor who stands at 6-foot-6, 321-pounds. The massive tackle didn't allow any sacks in 860 total offensive snaps at right tackle last season. He's exclusively lined up at right tackle since transferring to Arizona State in 2023.
Iheanachor transitioned to football later in his career after he previously played basketball and soccer at East Los Angeles College. He is still new to the offensive tackle position, and if the Bears are interested in him, would it be with the mindset that he could play left tackle? At the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in February, Poles said he wanted to keep Darnell Wright and Jonah Jackson together.
Poles and his staff would have to come up with a clear plan if they wanted to draft the talented tackle, which would likely be in the first round or early on Day 2. Iheanchor does have a 30 visit scheduled with Chicago.
Another player who will likely have their name called early in the draft is wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. The 6-foot-2, 203-pound receiver caught 61 passes for 711 yards and eight touchdowns last season. According to PFF, he only dropped one pass on 97 targets.
The clip below shows Tyson's ability to create separation from different landmarks on the field.
The Arizona State wide receiver is projected to go later in the first round. Even though the Bears have plenty of firepower on offense, Johnson's offense would become even more difficult to defend with a player like Tyson.
On the defensive side of the ball, cornerback Keith Abney II could be an enticing piece for Dennis Allen's defense. The 5-foot-10, 187-pound cornerback played primarily on the outside throughout his three years at Arizona State, but his lack of length in Allen's scheme would likely slide him inside at nickel in the pros.
Abney ended the 2025 season allowing just 32 receptions on 72 targets for 321 yards and gave up zero touchdowns and secured two interceptions.
As the 2026 NFL Draft approaches, the "Where's Poles?" game will continue to find players who can help this Bears team take another step in the right direction this upcoming season.
