Buffalo’s offensive onslaught left linebacker Jack Campbell shouldering the blame. After the Bills scored on four straight possessions, a devastated Campbell struggled to process the defensive collapse.

The Bills have put up 77 points through the first two weeks.
Joe Brady's promotion from offensive coordinator to head coach has been smooth for Josh Allen & Co., though Jim Leonhard's defense still has work to do, having given up 31 points in each of its first two games against the Houston Texans and Detroit Lions.
On Thursday night, the Bills opened Highmark Stadium on a high note, putting up 41 points on a proud Lions defense and earning a 10-point win. Buffalo scored a touchdown on its first four possessions.
Following the loss, Lions linebacker Jack Campbell choked back tears when speaking to reporters in the locker room. He took responsibility for not playing well against Buffalo.
"I'm gonna be honest with you. Hats off to them; they played terribly. It starts with me, and I feel like it's on me. I gotta be better," Campbell said, via ESPN.
"And I ain't got no other thing to do but look in the mirror and be better, so that's really where it starts. It starts with us, but yeah, they did a good job."
The Bills outgained the Lions in total yards 446-355. Buffalo had a balanced attack, gaining 243 passing yards to 203 yards on the ground. Campbell was frustrated by the Lions' performance on stopping the run.
Campbell noted the offense put enough points on the board for the Lions to have a chance to win.
"Every time I lace up my cleats, I'm going 100%. Yeah, put it on me," Campbell said. "I played terribly. I've gotta be better. Especially for the offense and for all these guys in the locker room."
The Bills are built to frustrate defenses, and they should be expected to do a lot more of that going forward. Buffalo will next play at home against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 1.
Allen is playing at an MVP-level through the first two games. He has 582 yards passing for five touchdowns and no interceptions while adding 92 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
