The Buffalo Bills have been named as a landing spot for star Vita Vea of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buffalo Bills have gotten off to a strong start this season, opening the new NFL season 3-0 as they prepare for Week 4.
Buffalo looks like a legitimate Super Bowl contender, and the team has been trying to position itself in the best way possible. While it's a long way until the playoffs, the Bills won't be judged until then, with the only goal being to win a title.
The Bills have a loaded roster, with many people believing that they are the best team in the AFC this year. But Buffalo can always improve in different areas, and the team could look ahead to the upcoming trade deadline to do so.
As the Bills move forward through the season, the front office may look to get aggressive in terms of adding to the roster. With the goal being to win a Super Bowl this season, Buffalo should be doing whatever it can to bring more talent to the team.
The Bills' offense has been fairly strong this season, but the defense could still use a little more firepower. One name that could make some sense is veteran defensive tackle Vita Vea of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
NFL analyst Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report listed Vea as a potential option for the Bills to consider. Buffalo could massively improve its defense if it were to go after the star defensive tackle this season.
Vea signed a one-year, $30 million extension with the Buccaneers over the offseason, but the team has gotten off to a slow start this year. Tampa Bay currently sits with a record of 0-3, and starting quarterback Baker Mayfield will now miss the next few games with an injury.
The rest of the rest could get very ugly for the Buccaneers, and this could open the door to a trade of Vea. Buffalo could take advantage of the situation, adding in the Pro Bowl defender.
Last season, Vea posted 34 total tackles and 4.5 sacks for Tampa Bay, playing in 17 games. Vea is one of the best defensive tackles in the game, and he could completely bolster the Bills run defense moving forward.
While it may cost a lot to land Vea from Tampa Bay, it could be well worth it for the Bills, especially on their journey to win a title. This could be the perfect move for Buffalo, and it could help push the team even closer to finally getting over the hump this season.
